Gurgaon shootout: Azad Yadav arrested

Gurgaon News: Four Days after he had gone missing, the father of the accused teenager, who allegedly shot dead his classmate in a Gurgaon school, conceded his son was in the wrong.

Shattered by the entire incident, Azad Singh Yadav said that his son had committed a huge blunder.

''I am more pained about the victim. My son has committed a huge blunder, he must be given strictest punishment for this,'' said the father of the accused.

On Thursday, the parents of the co-accused in the murder of Abhishek Tyagi had spoken to NDTV and insisted that their son was innocent.

But Azad Singh had been missing since Tuesday, when the tragic murder took place. On Friday evening, he surrendered at the Sector 40 police station in Gurgaon.

''He was under tremendous pressure which made him to surrender,'' said Sateesh Balan, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Gurgaon South.

Already facing charges of the Negligence under Arms Act, he said the weapon allegedly used by his son did not belong to him.

''The gun does not belong to him,'' said DCP Balan.

Now that Azad Singh is under arrest, he may now have to go through a lengthy interrogation. Mainly about the weapon that was in his possession and which became perhaps the biggest reason for the loss of a teenager's life.

Gurgaon shooting: Owner of revolver still out of reach

urgaon News: The Gurgaon school shootout case took an interesting turn on Saturday when a resident of the victim's village told the police that he saw the father of the main accused, Azad Singh Yadav, teaching his son how to use a firearm according to the Gurgaon police.

Earlier Abhishek Tyagi's father, Ravinder Tyagi had said he suspected that some grown-up had trained Azad's son to use the firearm and had also hatched the plot to kill his son. "It could be anyone and cops have to discover him.

My son would have inherited my property and business. Someone is behind this cutting of my roots. The way the two boys hid the weapon and waited till school was over to shoot my son dead clearly shows they did everything according to a plan," he said.

Meanwhile, Lal said Azad has confessed to the police that the revolver that was used in the murder did not belong to him.

"It belonged to one Raj Singh Dalal, whom he claims as his friend and neighbour. Hence, charges have been framed against him for possessing the arm illegally. We have sent the revolver to the forensic science laboratory for investigation," the commissioner said.

Lal said preliminary investigations showed that Dalal was an employee of the government's power department in Gurgaon. "We will arrest him soon. Legal action will be initiated against him since he could not keep his arm safely. It's his negligence," the commissioner said.

Sources said that Dalal, who has been absconding, was also staying in Islampur where Azad lived in rented accommodation. Dalal is a state-level champion in wrestling and reportedly got the job in sports quota.
